Deals abound across the region this summer. Hopefully the rain has passed, but it certainly has had an impact on outdoor-related businesses. Rain or shine, here are five fab finds in northern New England that will save you some cash:

1. Maine Huts and Trails. Based in Carrabassett Valley, the growing non-profit organization has two hike-to huts loaded with goodies like wood stove, kitchen and prime lodging. Reserve your space by July 15 to save 50 percent during a July or August stay. Basically, it's a two for one deal.

2. Killington golf. Okay, I'm not much of a golfer but my buddies are always lollygagging on some course or another.  Last winter, Killington in central Vermont had online ticket bargains on select dates. They're doing it again with golf. Called the Deal Grabber, 18-holes and a cart can be had as low as $39 per person depending on tee time and day.

3. Point Lookout. Not everyone wants to rough it in a cabin. Northport, Maine's Point Lookout steps up a notch with "resort cabins" that go for $125 to $175 per night. The midcoast Maine polished pine cabins have between one and three bedrooms, with air-conditioning and kitchens, overlooking Penobscot Bay north of Camden.

4. Appalachian Mountain Club. The region's quintessential hiking club has some bargains for members and non-members. Looking to go camping? Get away to the Cardigan Reservation site in central New Hampshire for three nights for $72, and that's up to six people (at $24 a night per site).

5. Great Bay Discovery Center kayak trips. The three to four hour kayak trips tend to launch from the Great Bay Discovery Center in Greenland, N.H. It's $15 if you bring your own boat. If you rent, it's $35 for boat and tour. The tours are Sat. July 25, Sat. Aug. 1, Fri., Aug. 7 and Fri. Aug, 21.
